As a long time Kanban enthusiast and complete reMarkable fanboy, I'm excited to share my summer side project with the world! Kanbanable is comprehensive Kanban template is designed specifically for digital ink devices, bringing the power of visual task management to your virtual notebook.

❓Why Kanbanable?

For years, I've been searching for the perfect Kanban solution to complement the reMarkable's intuitive note-taking experience. I tried countless Kanban apps, templates, and systems. While there are many great options out there, I found that none of them truly leveraged the unique capabilities of the reMarkable and other emerging digital paper devices.

So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and build Kanbanable from the ground up based on my own requirements and desires for a digital paper task management toolkit. The goal was to create a Kanban system that was as intuitive as the device itself, marrying the tactile feel of handwritten task management with the organizational power of a digital system.

Kanbanable is the result of that effort - a comprehensive Kanban template designed specifically to leverage the strengths of the reMarkable and similar digital paper tablets. FAQs

Is Kanbanable compatible with the reMarkable 1 and 2 as well? Absolutely! Kanbanable is designed to work seamlessly with both the reMarkable 1 and reMarkable 2 devices. In fact, I expect it'll work on any digital paper device that supports hyperlinked PDFs. That means owners of the Kindle Scribe, Onyx Boox, and even iPads are welcome to test drive Kanbanable! If you find that it doesn't work on your device, simple reach out to kanbanable@jamesforwood.com and we'll remedy or refund as appropriate.
Can I customize the Kanban board columns and layout? Yes, Kanbanable offers a fully customizable Kanban workflow. You can rename the columns, add more pages, and adapt the system to suit your needs. Note that adding pages to a PDF template is a feature of reMarkable and may not work the same on other devices.
Is there a mobile app or web version available? There are plenty of fantastic web-based Kanban tools. I personally use Kanbanote in these circumstances. Kanbanable wasn't meant to replace these options, but rather give you another for your reMarkable or other digital paper device.
How often will Kanbanable be updated? As the creator of this personal project, I'm committed to continuously improving Kanbanable based on user feedback and my own daily use of the tool. Rest assured I'll be quick to squash any bugs we find, continue optimizing the tool, and introduce new features and enhancements based on community feedback.
What's next for Kanbanable? Any plans to expand to other platforms? I'm excited to see how I and others use the system. Where it works, where it doesn't, and how to close those gaps. We'll have to wait and se what comes from this live 'build it in public' experiment!
